Judith Reidy at the Renaisance Faire in Bristol, Wisconsin....her Entry

Shakespeare's Meadow....
by Judith Reidy

Acrylic
14" x 17" framed
Auction begins at
4pm at Renaisance Faire
in Bristol, WI
near Kenosha and the Illinois border.....

I had never been to the Renaisance Faire before this event... but WOW what an unbelievable treasure a few minutes from my home... 28 min to be exact...
I found myself to transported in time to a delightful age of fanfare, fright and frolic.  No mild manners here.  Gypsis, ladies in waiting, maidens all aglow, Knights and jugglers... all in a little Camelot and Sherwood Forest...
Just Great..

Just Landed from Door County Adventure

Judith Reidy's Great Evening at Rivers End during Waukesha Art Crawl in

As you know I love to paint in the open air. I particularly enjoy painting in the RAIN. Well it did rain a little during the Saturday evening Waukesha Art Crawl. I had my summer Waukesha Plein Air paintings up for a showing in the gallery. I painted outside.

This painting sold to a gentleman because it reminded him of his wife's years of studying with the famous colorist and Pein Air instructor/artist Henry Hensche. I was so honored.

I also offer painting classes in Waukesha at the Clinton Gallery on Thursday late afternoons.

Portrait Development Project

Here we see the under-painting in red iron oxide.
Here we have the beginning of the the glazing of the colors.
Still some softening of values in the face especially the cheeks.  I like th way the painting is developing.   Notice the color studies for the flesh tones.
This has been a stunning project for me.
