The Still life with the teapot : Una Naranja y Una Manzana (An Orange and an Apple) #2

Una Naranja y Una Manzana
(An Orange and an Apple) #2

Today I again painted a still life with an apple and an orange. This time I included a tea pot on a cloth covered table out in the sun.
I did not end up putting the fruit on the black plate rather I placed the objects on a light blue light. I ended up turning up the glow of the sun on the tablecloth to juxtapose the cool shadows of the pot and fruit.

Tomorrow I hope to paint another orange and apple in a sunlit setting.

I am enjoying these still lifes.

Now my Spanish sentence for the the day shall be:

La manzana y la naranja están en la mesa con la tela azul.

29/40 of 40 Consecutive Paintings a Day - Kelly Lake Dock

Kelly Lake Dock
8" x 6"
Watercolor on Paper
$75

Today, I took my small inflatable boat onto to Kelly Lake, rowed across the lake and tied my boat to a raft and began this painting. I worked on it until the rain came down heavily.
Then I rowed to shore loaded the boat and went home.

This secluded lake is a hidden gem in Hales Corners... my little Eden where I can go to decompress.

This is a country road near Mineral Point, Wisconsin in early morning.

For those who have been keeping up with the 40 day challenge, I am really coming into some "challenging" days ahead. I have a "Block Party" that I am co- hosting this coming Saturday, May 30, and a Graduation Party for my son the following Saturday, June 6.
Its going to be interesting going.

Garden on a Grid

Garden on a Grid

I just want to share with you my Square Foot Garden.

Its a garden on the grid.
About the only thing in my life that is contained.
You see pepper and tomatoe plants, but not the carrot, lettuce, zuchini, bean, marigold, zinna and hollyhock seeds that were just planted.

The art is for eating later this year.
