New Oil Painting Esther's Sunset by Judith Reidy

View of sunset through the trees on Thanksgiving Day painted in oils

Esther's Sunset

Oil
25.5 x 21.5

$450

I have fond memories with this painting; my family was together after my mother's passing the previous week.  It sounds like one would or should be very sad.  But it was a glorious and joyous time for I knew my mother was in a better place and left us with a beauty and love that glowed in our hearts.  So like her life to us this painting glows on this cold early winter like November day at the conclusion of  the family's Thanksgiving Day gathering.

New Pastel Work by Judith Reidy

It has been exciting to be working in pastel again.  Such delicacy and fresh unfading color.
One of the qualities I appreciate about pastel is that the color never fades or yellows with age.  These images came from trips into the country this fall.

Winding Road on Green Bay Road

This is one of three paintings done on Green Bay Road.  I just kept thinking about the road into the mist.  What a mystery to unfold!

Another Bidding War on my Painting in Cedarburg

It is always terrific to be loved.....
and today was no different.
Happily this painting went to the adult who grew up on this farm. Now her father still lives there.
Several other patrons were bidding on this piece as well.
Tomorrow I will have a replacement painting in its place.

Judith Reidy at Cedarburg Painting

I  always thoroughly enjoy painting in and around Cedarburg during the Cedarburg Plein Air Event every June.  It is by far the highlight of my summer painting experience not only because of the great sites and sounds of the town but  more importantly because of the great social opportunity provided for the artists by the Cedarburg Artist Guild and the community which hosts the event for us.

We are treated like royalty with daily receptions, lunch, wine and just plain fun. They work hard to present our work for the public to view and purchase.  They laugh and they enjoy the excitement they create by their efforts.
