Third Image of Development of Painting

Now I am working on simplifying the trees and mountain receding intothe background. Still feel like I may consider making the focal point further down the stream. But I would need to open up the trees more and create more light and contrast in the area while keeping the receding element of the area. Normally the area of focus has high contrast and sharp edges....but now the area of focus is moving into the middle ground.

As you already know I have been working on this painting simplifying the morass of information in the photos. This is number two photo.

30 minutes Into a Painting done my Judith Reidy

In view of last evenings class upon Lorin Willey's prompting and suggested photo, I began working on this painting some 35 minutes ago. I will keep you posted as to the progress.

I think the photo was taken by Lorin in Ireland, yet it seems like the scene could come from a hilly region in Wisconsin.

I want to put the "head" on the white tree yet. But I think I will wait a bit.
The focal point appears near the foreground now, and I think it should be further back. so I will need to reduce the contrast in the foreground and move it further up the stream.....

Or maybe I should just cut off the top of the painting!
